Dear Readers,
Welcome to the first edition of the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children's (NADEC) newsletter. We are a Resource Center funded by the Office for Victims of Crime and the Bureau of Justice Assistance.  Our goal is to work with the State DEC Alliances and to provide training and technical assistance to those in the field and  community who assist and care for drug endangered children.

Thanks for taking the time to read our newsletter. We hope you enjoy it and we look forward to sending you more information in the future.

Drug Endangered Children: Wrapping Up The First Decade

Although my memory has somewhat faded from the early 90's, I still see bits and pieces of hundred of children's dirty little faces, amid little snippets of the homes they came from, too many to describe and most so insidious I want to forget.  My memories don't go away.  More

First Response: A Portal Into the Realm of Safety
The DEC Mission as a gateway to safety
A portal, as often conceptualized in fantasy literature, is akin to a magical gateway linking worlds separated by distance or fate.  Often the portal we see in fiction is an avenue to escape some dark force of evil thereby allowing the hero to reach a realm of safety.  More

A Look into NADEC's Work Groups
NationalAlliance for Drug Endangered Children (NADEC) developed work groups to better meet the goals of providing training and technical assistance to the field.  Each work group is headed by a chair and has 10-12 participants comprised of different disciplines.  More
